Just yesterday, I made a song cover featuring Sonic and Tails AI voice filters, and it turned out good enough for me to change a couple lifelong stances regarding me and Sonic voice acting! Details just ahead.

Around a decade ago, I had a dream which resembled a scene from Muppet Treasure Island, and it involved Sonic and Tails hanging upside down from a space station, both singing their respective parts for the song number "Love Led us Here" from the movie, frequently cutting to a party inside the space station.

Shortly after, I tried creating the song cover itself using my truly authentic voice acting, but the results, especially for Tails, were absolutely horrible.

Fast forward a decade, and AI song covers by Sonic and Tails started cropping up everywhere, so just for kicks, I wanted to redo these efforts I made a decade ago with this newly-invented technology. Since I couldn't separate the two different vocals of the song with AI (just all the vocals from the instrumentals), and since I wanted to AI-cover a duet legitimately, I decided to rerecord the vocals myself using a general singing voice, and then run those through the AI voice filters.

The results were absolutely stunning, for the most part. However, I later found out that for these "AI covers" on YouTube that run the original vocals through these filters, it failed to account for the original mannerisms of these vocals. So, for example, we have Tails having Michael Jackson's accents & mannerisms. Tails would never really talk like that. So, basically, some talent is still required to use AI in a convincing manner.

With that said, I slowly had the thought of re-dubbing one of my older shorts with these AI filters in mind, though I didn't know which one to do at first.

Then, I remembered I made a pinned comment on my YouTube video "And you thought Microsoft was bad (Part 2)" (originally titled "Tails and the Techno Phone"), saying that the voice acting I made for that video sounded incredibly muffled and I "may" consider a redub.

Well... that sounds like a promise I had to go through with. So, expect an AI redub of "Tails and the Techno Phone" on Newgrounds very soon!
